Cage Midwell

Cage Midwell

Cage Midwell, 17, is the main protagonist of 2173 Testament, with a very similar appearance to Leo Stenbuck. A young worker onboard the civilian interplanetary express, Bonaparte III, he is an orphan, and due to which has a notable inferiority complex, an overly passive nature and very low self-esteem.

Cage was born to an unknown mother onboard a cargo ship -- Midwell -- which was smuggling illegal immigrants. This is where Cage probably got his last name from. The captain of Midwell later died, and Cage was forced to move to another spaceship, the Bonaparte III. Here, he met new people, and, despite his heavily introverted and depressed state, managed to become friends with Ares.

Carrying fragile emotions, Cage often passes the blame for his failings onto others. He also has a tendency to crack under pressure. Despite this, he is a kind and gentle young man and believes in doing whatever is necessary for the greater good.

As time passed, Cage would get himself into various problems, and Ares would always be there for him to help him out. What Ares did not expect, though, was that eventually, he grew to adore Cage and became like a "big brother" to him. However, this was not all positive on Cage’s part. Although Cage now had a friend that would protect him, he started believing that he could never make a difference in anything by himself, and that without Ares, he wouldn’t be able to do anything.

Of course, Cage's life would not stay calm from there. In the year 2173, the cargo / passenger ship Bonaparte III would face a catastrophe of its own when it meets its fate with Orbital Frame Iblis.

Cage pilots the Orbital Frame “Testament”.
