Here's the thing: I'm worried that Hideo would screw up Zone of the Enders like he did Metal Gear. I don't want story retcons, I don't want a gameplay style that's unrecognizable to the series, and I don't want it to be milked to infinity. So, I'm almost tempted to just say "Ya know what, don't touch ZOE or you'll mess it up!"

Story retcons means things established in the continuity before being contradicted later.

EXAMPLE: Pre-MGS3, Big Boss established FOXHOUND in the early 90s; MGS3-post, Big Boss established FOXHOUND in 1971 shortly after leaving the FOX unit.

And I doubt the series will be endlessly milked. It's taken Kojima eight years to give us REAL information on the future of the series, and that information is just that the two previous games will be re-released. We won't get solid ZOE3 info for three or four more years, at the earliest.
