Re: Japanese Begin Working On Space Elevator
Lol, space elevator? I can see all of the sci-fi events happening soon.... But just how will this thing keep its ground? What if the ground caves in? Or if the ground becomes too moist and begins to sag and the tower losing its grip? Right now, all of our buildings are sinking into the ground progressively little by little. A tower into space will mean having the weight of the entire island of Porto Rico on one small place as a rod.
Project: impossible.
This thing won't hold up for more than a week. One blow of wind to one side is all it takes, if you take one small panel with wind drag, there is little drag, now a big-long side panel will be receiving about 42 tons of aerodynamic drag force. So unless they know how to create a 92 square-mile base structure with such little money, then God and Jesus exist and all of the stories in our animes are real.

Re: Japanese Begin Working On Space Elevator
its not impossible, we just don't have the tech/knowledge to do it yet
