I haven't played any of the MGS series, but both ZOE and ZOE2 have an adequate amount of cutscenes.

The ZOE series is a sci-fi, space robot combat based game, where you've got machines called Orbital Frames. Orbital Frames are gigantic robot sort of machines that are piloted by a 'frame runner.' Enders are people that were born on Mars (primarily), and is basically like a discriminative way of referring to such people by the Earthlings.

A good idea might be to check out the ZOE intro (and not the ZOE2 intro in fear of spoilage -- but if you must, you can check that out too!).

The Wikipedia articles aren't too great for getting a good introduction to the game, so the intro to ZOE might be worth it. You can find an inexpensive, affordable copy of ZOE for PS2 through Amazon (I got mine for $10 through Amazon :D).

Thanks. Its sounds like a pretty cool game. I've been looking for it on ebay and I've found a copy of ZOE for 99 Cents so I'm going to try and get that. One other question i have is: Are the controls easy to use?

Definitely. It might take a little bit to get used to, but once you do you'll see that it's rather logical and perhaps you'll fall in love with the controller layout like I did. :D

I honestly love the layout Hideo put together for the controller. :)

lol, for 99cents there's no reason not to buy it :D

There are a lot of cutscenes, but 2 has more, the second games basically twice as long if you sit through all of 2's cutscenes, which are far more like MGS2's cutscenes since they used the same guy to direct them.
Even including that zoom thing when you press R1 during one.

The controls are easy to get to grips with, the only thing that threw me a little at first was using Triangle and X to ascend and descend respectively, but you get used to that pretty quick. Not that you really need them all that much.

ZOE2 should be pretty cheap aswell if you look in the right places, if you like 1 when you play it definitely get 2, despite being even shorter than the already short ZOE, it improves on so much.

Well someone on ebay got to the game before i could but i went to my gamestop today and they had it used for $5.00 so i got it. I'm not that far but so far i really like the game. The controls weren't as hard as i thought and the story is really good. :D
