The answer is simple.
Your internet is very likely being slow from your modem. It's the modem itself.
I used to have this problem with MY bellsouth modem, until I got frustrated to the point of smashing it on the floor and getting a new one. Perhaps the modem was poorly build and had poorly done circuitry, in other words, it was made sloppy and works like crap.
So... anyway, try unplugging your modem and plugging it back in when it stops working. Hopefully it'll refresh the modem's timing system and you may reenter high speed internet.
One last thing, make sure you don't use Intenet Explorer or Windows Live messenger too often. I learned from trial and error that those two programs crashed my network countless times. I think Bill Gaytes is on to me or something....
