Post Re: Google [Bot]
I don't know. I think the googlebot is designed to promote advertisements and crap.
But don't we have these weird letter things on forums so bots can't make accounts???
What the hell is this conspiracy? Google is using pre-programmed internet bots to illegally bi-pass server-forum security measures, and misusing these accounts for unwanted advertising!

Google already has satellite monitoring systems already used on Google Earth. Google Phones, google gps systems, and other devices running on a google platform, can be tracked at any moment, from any where.

I know this because why would google earth have a GPS feature you could easily activate by paying for? A bit peculiar?

Google also saves every search in its memory banks, so all of our searches for illegal downloads of games, music, and porn, are all stored on the mainframe database, easily accessed by anyone within the staff...

Guys, I think we've just met the world's biggest Friend AND Foe. Google.

God damn it, I sound like a fucking hippie...
But anyways, this is all true and VERY likely.

Normally, I would call Helldiver crazy because of conspiracy theories like this one. However, based on what he has said and understanding of the system, I would have to agree with him. Google is like the government in a way, being big brother. Break the laws they set up just to see what others are up to. Hell, Google hasn't been the only bot I have seen here, I have seen a Yahoo and a MSN bot as well on the site when I am on at the late hours of my day. Its like Helldiver said, they have used a backdoor hack program to set up illegal accounts on almost every site, wouldn't be surprised if every site, just to monitor the net. And because Google does run a nice little portion of the net, we really can't do anything about their backhacks or fancy programs. Boy, that was a mouthful.

Post Re: Google [Bot]
The Google and Yahoo "Spider" bots often seen online are nothing to worry about.
All they do is index the pages for the respective search engine.
So that if you search a things and it finds a thread with those things in it will return a link to the thread as a search result.

It is nothing malicious.

I've run a forum before :v
It's a common sight.

One thing is indexing, another thing is unlawful advertising.

Where is it advertising.

The google and yahoo bots do not post anything, they cannot even, they do not hold accounts. They are recognized by the forum software and it displays the fact that its present in the users online, but its not the same as a member being online.
