Just like how PS2 slim works instead of the original PS2. recently my friend borrowed a game from me (Tekken 5), & he said his PS2 can't read it.
I truly believe that this kind of thing will happen to the PS3 slim. also not forgot to mention the durability...

They also removed a feature on the PS3 slim in which you could install an OS (Linux) on it.
