You can either fight against the computer, or team up with it against another player.
This is an offline versus mode, don't get cheery.

The bottom bits are easy:
Press enter on the bottom square to select on whether the computer is playing or the player is playing.

This is best for rigging dramatic screenshots of Zetus versus Chaos.
