After over six years of no new Zone of the Enders title, updated, high definition versions of ZOE1 and ZOE2 have been officially confirmed to be in development and are coming to the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360.

Shortly after the KONAMI Pre-E3 conference began, these images surfaced on the internet:

UPDATE: It's confirmed, by Kojima himself, for 2012. The PS3 version will also have "transfarring", the ability to continue your PS3 games on your PSP for MGS or ZOE on the go.

UPDATE 3: It is apparently going to be the updated Special Edition of ZOE2 instead of the regular version.

I saw the conference, yes it's all true. Konami is going to do the same move of Ubisoft and his game Beyond Good and Evil. If the HD remake will sell well maybe the is gonna be a ZOE3.

So we have confirmed PS3 remakes and the very real possibility of matching PSP/NGP remakes based on Hideo's talk about the "transferring" technology.

Also, was it only me or did that little ADA reference they threw in there make anyone else laugh?

It is a MUST BUY!
This has to be a sign for a real sequel!
But seeing that the remastered versions are in both xbox and PS. Its probably not going to take full advantage of the PS3 tech that I wanted to see... But something is better then nothing!

This is good enough for me. Finally I may be able to revive the nostalgia I felt all those years ago when I first played this. Kojima pretty much had us by the balls for the past 6 years and drops a bomb like this. At least he actually listened and gave us what we want to a certain extent. It proves he hasnt forgotten his old franchise just yet.
