While it's been known that animators at Sunrise are handling the opening movie for the Zone of the Enders HD Edition, the actual PS2 games themselves are not being remastered by Kojima Productions alone, according to Kojima Productions Report #154. A third party is developing ZOE HD alongside the internal team.

Could it be Platinum Games? Some have speculated that it could be Bluepoint, whom we know handled MGS2 & MGS3. However, the fact that KP is actively keeping the developer that they are "closely working with" a secret suggests that it's likely to be a different team altogether.

Note: ZOE HD discussion starts at about 30 minutes into the podcast.

I hope this means that ZOE1 gets completely remastered to have the speed of ZOE2.

I think Hideo Kojima will use Platinum Games as the developer team for ZOE 3, but he will still be directing and producing the game while his Metal Gear/Konami crew focus on his main projects.

If it is the same role that BluePoint had, then I don't think we'll see any changes in either of the games.

If it's the same role Bluepoint had, then why is it taking longer? Sunrise seems to have done their bit and made these new moments of animation, and there's only two games here instead of three (neither one of which needs as much HD upping as Peace Walker did).

Well, you make a good point, there. I always assumed that the MGS Collection was the priority, and now that it is out ZOE would be the main focus. I'm not familiar with Sunrise, though.

HINT:

SUNRISE VAP are the ones who made the ZOE:Idolo movie, and the following ZOE:Dolores I animated series.

I think it's beautiful that Hideo Kojima are collaborating to make ZOE 2 HD and add animated scenes.

It's enough to make me cry of happiness on the inside, but I'm worried it will conflict with the appearance of the game.

However, I'm SURE ALL OF US WANT TO SEE AN ANIMATED JEHUTY ANIME BATTLE just as badly as I do.

Oh geez, I feel stupid now, ha ha. So, has Sunrise been confirmed to be working on the game?

I'm pretty sure they originally did the anime scenes for ZOE2, so returning to them for the HD anime would be the ideal decision.
