Taking place before the events of the first Zone of the Enders game, Z.O.E 2167 Idolo (Z.O.E: Idolo in North America) is an animated movie (OVA) that tells the story of the BAHRAM military, protagonist Radium's goal to become a successful Orbital Frame runner, and how BAHRAM frame runner Viola's personality developed into what it was in Zone of the Enders.

Z.O.E 2167 Idolo and its "special soundtrack" were included as bonus materials in the Zone of the Enders premium package.

"After the disputed success of Zone of the Enders, Hideo Kojima decided to give the series its own OVA and let the Sunrise studio tell a prequel story for the game. And at the same time give a chance for the fans to see how the agile and free of gravity technology Orbital Frame came to be.
