10 years later, for some reason, I felt like getting a higher quality image now that I had access to the PC version of the game. Looking back at the image I have posted, it's laughably bad quality-wise. I managed to rip an extremely high-res image directly from the game files.  However, it appears to be cropped from the top and bottom for whatever reason. My only hypothesis for this is that the original image was fine for the standard aspect ratio at the time (4:3) but since most TV's and monitors of today have a standard aspect ratio of (16:9) the only way to reasonably fit the image is to crop it. This was also the case for the Zoradius end-screen image, a shame but I suppose this is the trade-off for quality. I also found some other interesting high-res art from these files that I might upload in a new thread for the few that might be interested. |
